Viruses

Viruses are microscopic particles that gets inside a cell and often destroys it. They usually cause disease like common cold, flu, and acquired immune deficiency-or AIDS. They are very tiny. They are even smaller then types of microscopic bacteria. Their main purpose is to kill the cells, and in a human body, they would try to erupt the immune system. Viruses contain protein and genetic material. But a virus can't function by itself. It can't eat, grow, break down food, or use oxygen. They can only reproduce inside a living cell, causing the cell to usually die.

YAY! BACTERIA TIME!!!

Here is a video on bacteria. Watch it, if you are that bored.

Bacteria
Bacteria is a single celled organism that does not have a nucleus. They can live in soil, water, and other organisms consisting of their necessities. Bacteria is microscopic, though the largest known bacteria is about 1,000 times as large as the average. It has three main shapes: rod shaped, spherical, and spiral shaped. They usually have a cell wall that is very rough, giving them their shape. Usually they contain of Flagella, a hairlike part that helps move the bacteria around in liquid.

This is a basic animal cell. All animals have this type of cell containing these parts. You see, every cell structure is different, just like a fingerprint. These cells make up plant structures, animal structures, and our structures! It makes up this mouse lemur, your little brother, and that aloe plant by your window! These cells are us!

Cells

Cells are the basic unit of all living things. Also, they are the smallest unit that can perform life processes. They are covered by a membrane and have DNA and cytoplasm. They make up everything; from plants to animals to us!

Organelles

Organelles are structures that perform specific functions within the cell. They vary on the type of cell they live in. Usually, they are surrounded by a membrane and float in the cytoplasm. It is the smallest bodies in the cytoplasm and they perform specific functions. They are all specially controlled to meet the cell's needs. It keeps the cell under control, healthy, and running smoothly.

My picture is of a mouse lemur. It is the smallest lemur in the world. It is found in South Africa and has big eyes and whiskers. They are so cute!!!!

This video is about a mouse lemur in a prickly, unique tree-i forget the name...- found in South Africa. Since they are so small, they are hard to find. And because of the trees thorns, the cameraman couldn't get that close. But thank goodness for zoom! When I first watched this video, I knew it was perfect because it shows how they act on a regular basis, though mostly just because this lemur doesn't exactly know it's being spied on. So watch this video, for info, for fun, or maybe just cuz you're bored.
